The B2 English language requirement

A general explanation of the English language standard and common ways to meet it.

Skilled Worker applicants generally need to show English language ability to a required level, commonly described as CEFR level B2 for reading, writing, speaking and listening. There are several ways to meet this, such as an approved secure English language test, a degree taught in English, or being a national of a country recognised as majority English speaking.

Some professional regulators may also have their own English requirements for registration, which can be separate from the visa requirement.
